Ethnic representation -
We went through the Vogue magazine of 41 pages and counted 27 white long hair women until we reached the first black African model. It was the 47th page until we reach our first male who was from white background. Flicked 2 more pages to the 49th paged and reach our second black model and on the 52nd page we found our 3rd black model. On our 96th page we found the first spread to have 2 males in one picture and one was also the 1st black male model and on our 64th women. on the 107th page theres the 4th black female model. 130th page we find our 5th male who is white. 192nd page we found our 5th black female model. 198th page we found the 6th black female model. 208th and 209th we found another male making it the 6th male.
The process was from a consumers point of view so we decided to go from the beginning to the end. Counting each models and taking note what race/color they are and taking note what page and also made note on gender for additional data.

Content Analysis in particular was a difficult research technique to carry out. We had difficulties throughout.For example it was difficult to tell the exact ethnicity or a model we could only say color which makes this technique less accurate and less detailed. Also another obstacle is whether we should consider image size. We came across is whether to count a double spread page 1 page or 2 pages. We decided to count them separately.
We could have made note of the brands that featured black models or male models and see whether there brands are more diverse by looking at other example Vogue. Even looking at other brands that had white female models and see whether they are more diverse in their selection of models in other magazines. Then draw a conclusion whether the reason behind the unbalanced diverse cultures is Vogues styles or the brands/photographers themselves.
Looking at more Vogue magazines from other years and see whether Vogues diversity has increased in recent years or even decreased would provide helpful information and draw us a better conclusion.
